The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced that this year's T20 World Cup will be held from June 1 to June 29, 2024, and that the United States will co-host the event with the West Indies for the first time. The ICC has announced 55 matches around the United States, including Texas, New York, and Florida.
The top two teams from each of the four groups of five that make up the 20 qualifying teams advance to the Super 8 stage. The top two teams in each group will advance to the knockout phase, which includes two semi-finals and a final.
The 2024 World Cup series will include Australia, England, India, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Ireland, Scotland, and Papua New Guinea.
The top eight teams from the previous tournament and the following two teams in the ICC Men's T20I Team Rankings qualified automatically, together with the two hosts.
The two hosts, as well as the top eight teams from the 2024 competition, will automatically qualify for the competition. The remaining two automatic qualifying slots went to the top-ranked teams in the ICC Men's T20I Team Rankings who did not progress to the finals.
