In a significant stride toward fortifying India's electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure, Tata Power EV Charging Solutions Limited (TPEV CSL), a prominent entity within the Tata Power Group specializing in EV charging solutions, has formalized a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL). The collaboration's primary objective is to deploy a network of fast and ultra-fast EV charging points across the country, with a focus on key cities and major highways.
Tata Power aims to install over 500 EV charging points at various Indian Oil retail outlets, strategically positioning them in major urban centers like Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Pune, and Kochi. Additionally, the charging stations will be strategically located along major highways, including the Mumbai-Pune Expressway, Salem-Kochi Highway, Guntur-Chennai Highway, and the Golden Quadrilateral. The overarching goal of this partnership is to establish a robust and extensive intercity charging network, mitigating range anxiety concerns for EV owners traveling between cities.

Leveraging Indian Oil’s extensive presence, Tata Power will set up fast and superfast charging points in multiple regions, contributing to accessibility and inclusivity for a sustainable electric mobility future."
To enrich the EV user experience, Tata Power will introduce the "Tata Power EZ Charge" app, while Indian Oil will unveil the "Indian Oil e-Charge" mobile app. These user-friendly applications will enable users to conveniently locate and book charging points.
Saumitra Shrivastava, Executive Director (Retail-N&E) at Indian Oil, underscored the corporation’s commitment to adapting to the growing trend of electric vehicle adoption. He stated, "Indian Oil envisages providing 10,000 EV Charging Stations by 2024, transforming the retail network into complete energy solutions outlets.
